I'm listening to all of my records in my collection. It's not a huge collection, and I have some weird ones that I never listen to. This gives me a chance to listen to all of them and share my thoughts about them while I listen to them.

Music with 58 Musicians, Vol. 1
A great sampling of ECM recordings from late 70's early 80's. The name is a take on Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians, an excerpt of which is included. That is the only piece that is excerpted, all other songs are complete.
Highlight is Old and New Dreams performing Lonely Woman. Dewey and Don seem to weirdly go too slow (maybe) through the melody, but the solos are transcendent. Charlie Charlie Charlie...
Even though it's a compilation, it's nice to have a Gatefold ECM album WITH LINER NOTES!! This album also showcases a variety of innovative music which is just about completely absent from ECM these days. There is Old and New Dreams, Art Ensemble of Chicago, Paul Motian, Jack Dejohnette, Terje Rypdal, Codona, Pat Metheny, John Abercrombie, Steve Reich... etc.
