World Saxophone Quartet - Dances and Ballads

This band was so of its' time. David Murray, Oliver Lake, Julius Hemphill, and Hamiet Bluiett. Sounding like a sympathetic string quartet, but improvisatory and FREE. The last track is an all out four saxophone assault on sound. Yet some tunes get downright FUNKY. Sophisticated and cool - the best way to be.
